What changes your offer
- Chip, size and year. Newer chips and larger screens pay more. A MacBook Air M5 15-inch is $645 with 256GB and $810 with 2TB.
- Memory (RAM). The quote tool asks for RAM on most MacBooks. 8GB is priced about 15% below 16GB, 32GB about 10% above, and 64GB or more about 18% above. The MacBook Neo only comes with 8GB, so it skips the question.
- Condition. Mint (like new) pays the full price. Good (minor wear, fully working) is about 90% of it, Fair (visible scratches, still works) about 65%, and a cracked screen about 38%.
- Battery health. At 90% and above there is no deduction. Below that the offer steps down: about 3% off at 85 to 89%, 6% at 80 to 84%, 10% at 75 to 79%, 15% at 70 to 74%, 22% at 65 to 69%, and 30% under 65%.
- Other problems. Keyboard or trackpad problems, a weak battery, and cracked or damaged cases each have their own choice in the quote tool, so you see the lower offer before you book.
